Poole Christmas Lights in Runton Road

Runton Road is a long cul-de-sac with a turning circle at the end. Almost all the houses on the turning circle are lavishly decorated - when we went, there was music playing too! Heaven only knows what their electricity bill must be!

This is a 270-degree panorama stitched together from fifty photos with an exposure of 1-and-a-third seconds at f11. The full size file is over a gigabyte, and if printed at normal photo resolution would be 60 centimetres high and 220 centimetres long. Must try that some day - has anyone got somewhere to hang it?

It was fun to shoot - must have taken about fifteen minutes because every thirty seconds or so, another carload of trippers would trundle up the road, do a 3-point turn in the turning circle, and drive back down the road again. Meanwhile the car lights would be ruining the exposure settings... So while I stood gritting my teeth like a prima donna, it was nice to chat to some of the residents!

Thanks to the folk of Runton Road for brightening up this cold night. I hope you like my photo, and a very Merry Christmas everybody!

Jack and Jill Pre-School Christmas Fair

It's that time of year again when I can say I'm looking forward to shooting Father Christmas and a whole lot of children!

It's an honour to be photographing the children visiting Father Christmas in his grotto at the Jack and Jill Pre-School Christmas Fair. Hopefully my two eldest will be on their best behaviour...

It's hard work but fun, and certainly worth it because the proceeds are going straight to Jack and Jill.

Portrait Photos of Dorset Golf and Country Club Captains

To the Dorset Golf and Country Club today to take the official portrait photographs of the Golf Club Mens' and Ladies' Captains for 2010.

I set up my mobile studio in the conference room and then invited John and Dorothy, who both looked very smart, in for their portrait session. I really enjoy meeting new people and working with them to relax them in front of the camera so that we get some great shots!

Thanks to the Dorset Golf and Country Club for inviting me, and to John and Dorothy for being such good sports and great subjects!

If you would like me to take portraits in Hampshire and Dorset, for example head and shoulders shots of your officials, or group photos of your staff, please get in touch through the main FourT4 website.
